Awsome cruiser with lots of potential
Boat Yard Clearance Sale Now Underway! This Sea Ray 460 is the largest Sea Ray built in 1985. She is powered with twin 6 cyl Detroit 6V92 diesel engines functioning 20 months ago. There is a 8 kw diesel Westerbeke that was functioning 11 months ago. The engines need to be serviced and turbos and blowers are missing from the Detroits. The generator ran great until someone took without permission the injector off it for use on another yacht similarly equipped I suppose. She has been built for comfort with 2 staterooms, 2 heads, huge galley and salon, 2 refrigerators, icemaker and 3 air conditioning systems in which two of the three ac's were working 11 months ago. The list of extra features include a water maker, autopilot, 2 depth finders, 8kw generator, windlass and a cockpit cover. The boats history goes like this: The boat was driven under its own power by the fellow who owned the boat in Florida to be hauled and have the bottom cleaned and the engines serviced. He had a tech remove the turbos and blowers to be rebuilt like you would rebuild a starter motor. They were not coming on at low rpms. It idled rich and would stall when attempting to dock the previous owner stated. The tech that removed the items lost his lease and the parts were never recovered. This beautiful vessel has had her parts taken on two occasions. I purchased the boat and had it shipped at $3.50 / mile to Lake Lanier. The boat needs about $5000 of Detroit engine parts to function: 2-batteries, 2-impellers, 2-turbos, 2-blowers, one injector, two engine oil changes and 2 gasket sets. All of these items and one manifold on hand need to be installed. The generator needs a solenoid and now an injector needs to be located and installed. Estimates state it will require about 5 days of labor roughly 40 hours at $35.00 to $125.00 an hour depending on who you get to do the repairs ($1400 to $5000). It also must have one cockpit vent window replaced. The exterior upholstery needs to be replaced to the tune of $500 to $2000 depending on how much seating you want to replace. The bimini is good enough for a few more seasons. The other curtains are usable but are in need of attention. The interior is dry and has no leaks but it does get condensation. The interior it is all original and a major cleaning is needed or you might want to re do it ($500 to clean or $2500 to re upholster). The exterior needs a good detailing. The rub rails are loose from it being lifted and need to be re attached. The straps stretched and pulled the screws loose from the fiberglass that holds on the rub rail. There is a dingy hardware kit on the transom. Again the systems are two complete heads with showers. full galley with microwave range combo, one refrigerator, one freezer, ice maker, WATER MAKER, electronics, windlass, and three air conditioners one of which does not function all other equipment seemed to function when tested 11 months ago when generator was last ran. Decks and swim platform are all good and solid. Props shafts and rudders are all good. Bottom paint is good. I would recommend a survey unless you are familiar with yachts. The boat has a value of over $50,000 per nada and there are some listed for as much as $125,000. This boat is a terrific value at $29000. I planned to add value to her and keep at my private dock because she has a diesel generator and a water maker. The theft of the injector from the generator has caused me to lose interest in the project because there is no power available. No power makes it tough to get it cleaned up and enjoyable. My dock has no power and the diesel generator was the exciting feature for my needs. The water maker was an awesome feature for my needs as well because there is no water at my dock. If I get motivated and begin adding value to her the price may change. The upholstery guy has taken a look and is working up an estimate for the exterior seating. The boat is a great opportunity for someone who has the skills or the patience to have it restored. I have hundreds of pictures available upon request. ([removed phone]) The boat will be shown by appointment only. The ad will be updated as more info becomes available. I need to sell this 45' Sundancer because it is too large for my equipment at our boat yard and too large for my private dock where it is moored. Just reduced by 33% from $34950 to $28000. It must go! Sunday Monday number [removed phone] Shane ....................................................
